Spring is in the air and big changes are being added to the new picnic pavilion. Many thanks to the carpentry and masonry students from Madison High School, we now have a solid cement floor, strong pillars and beautiful roof over our heads. We will now be turning our energies towards a summer fundraiser to support the financial cost of the finishing touches for the restrooms, electricity throughout, and an outdoor kitchen. Once these updates are in place, we will proceed with the other site plans.
The walking trail around the property will be the next project. This will give members of the community a safe, beautiful place to exercise on a mulched walking trail. Future ideas include a community garden and memory benches positioned around the walking trail and with views of the creek.
The fall goal of the community club is to collect donations for purchasing Leyland Cypress trees to create a screen for the property border. This will give the picnic pavilion and future community building added privacy and add to the beautification of our community. For more information, please visit the Fundraising Page on our website or feel free to ask an officer or community club member!
Our next meeting is Tuesday May 17, 2016 at 6:30pm at the Fellowship Hall in Enon Baptist Church. Please join us as we will be voting on fundraising projects and would love to hear your ideas!
